Product And Song Lyric Themes

The Sycamore Lane Name as Well as Product Themes are Based on Original Sycamore Lane Song Lyrics:

Sycamore Lane

Funny how the years fly by
And all of us wonder why
And sweet memories I recall
Vivid in a shard of light
Someone, somewhere defines us all
Even better when they coincide
‘Cause fate knows best
And we don't get to decide

And now as I wonder why
‘Cause the years slipped right by
If the place is just the same
If you found love again
Since we held hands and laughed our way down Sycamore Lane

I see that grass is growing down the middle of Sycamore Lane
'Twas not so long ago I listened to the birds proclaim their love
Now only silence to whisper your name

Maybe this is fate's reply
As I think of you I cry
How you smiled and looked at me
How I felt when we first kissed
It’s been a while now
But I remember like yesterday

Now I'm here to say goodbye
‘Cause time has passed me by
But the place is just the same
Whatever you became
Since we held hands and laughed our way down Sycamore Lane

I see that grass is growing down the middle of Sycamore Lane
'Twas not so long ago I listened to the birds proclaim their love
Now only silence to whisper your name
Only silence to whisper your name

Rural Symphony

As I walk the barren road that rambles along moss-covered stone
Rusty barbs on leaning fences cry out for unassuming blood
I recall this childhood walk long before careless years were spent
When a face I barely recognize questions if I really am myself

In the bridle of the rain spat from the unrepentant sky
A puddle at my feet consoles when it soaks into my aching socks
I trudge past the humpbacked bridge that spans a void of memories
Then I’m back in Sycamore Lane where now the gate opens to absence

The old cottage doesn’t look the same, derelict to all but the cold
The trees now overhang the past solemn, bow their heads in sympathy
While birds in weary feathers cry out in rural symphony

There’s a single daffodil smiling beneath a broken window
I can almost hear the laughter that once gave meaning to my smile
While I breathe the solitude and wonder if I’ll ever return
I make peace with loneliness in the silence of Sycamore Lane

The old cottage doesn’t look the same, derelict to all but the cold
The trees now overhang the past solemn, bow their heads in sympathy
While birds in weary feathers cry out in rural symphony

Rural Radiance

A fresh breath of air deep inside my lungs
Four little letters soaring from my tongue
The fragrance of spring eternal inside
In tribute to you a flower by my side

Painted by innocence, I can't get enough
There's a rural radiance about your love
There's a rural radiance about your love

A beam of light paints my joy in numbers
Fresh as the grass a new world of wonder
The pulse of summer bubbles like champagne
Natures stadiums chanting loud your name

Tasted the difference, I can't get enough
There's a rural radiance about your love
There's a rural radiance about your love

Copper Kettle

When we grow old what's there to do
When my pacemakers shaking
Slow dancing with you
When we're too feeble to walk to the kitchen
In silence we can't hear each other's bitching
When our hands are all rigid
And our dreams have all faded
Before memories disappear and our minds are too jaded

Let's hook copper pipes up to a copper kettle
To live out our lives drinking tea that tastes like metal
Let's soak all the tea bags in a secret potion from Taipei
So we absorb the antioxidants and feel younger every day

When I look at you and wonder who you are
When you have a twinkle in your eye
But it's a journey too far
When drink isn't needed to bring on a stagger
Bent over double and we've both lost our swagger
When our joints are all rusty
And our teeth beyond decay
Before tablets form three meals a day

Let's hook copper pipes up to a copper kettle
To live out our lives drinking tea that tastes like metal
Let's soak all the tea bags in a secret potion from Taipei
So we absorb the antioxidants and feel younger every day

Smoke From The Roast

In the night of twists and turns
Every waking hour sleep burns
‘Cause your mind is rambling
And refuses to return

In the mornin’ you wake up
You peel your lids ‘cause they’re stuck
How you wish for Saturday
But today you’re out of luck

Running late you’re awake but not ready for the day
‘Til you smell the smoke from the roast of the coffee and the toast
And suddenly you’re alive

Mid mornin’ you take a dip
On your mind a second hit
Your energy is slowing
‘Til you savor your next sip

4pm you feel the shakes
As your mind accelerates
You can’t slow the pulsating
‘Cause there ain’t a coffee brake

Running late you’re awake but not ready for the day
‘Til you smell the smoke from the roast of the coffee and the toast
The smoke from the roast of the coffee and the toast

It’s late you still feel great but resigned to your fate
‘Cause the noises have resumed and your mind is consumed

By the smoke from the roast of the coffee and the toast
It makes you feel alive
Makes you feel alive
Makes you feel alive
The smoke from the roast of the coffee and the toast
The smoke from the roast of the coffee and the toast
The smoke from the roast of the coffee and the toast
Makes you feel alive

Sweeter Than The Truth

Saw the ring on your finger
Said to myself ‘ok here we go’
The way you looked at me
Like a circus act or show
In the conversation you told me I was hot
Got an inclination that you were pretending
To be somebody you were not
But I didn’t care ‘cause they were just words
But words I wanted to hear

Oh, what you said tasted sweeter than the truth
I don’t believe a word of it and it sounded kinda crude
At least you said something
And that something wasn’t rude
Oh, what you said tasted sweeter than the truth

Now I can’t get enough of you
I know you’re still pretending
And what you’re intending, I wish I knew
My ears are perked to listen
To your words from your full flow
Tell me again what you wanna do to me
‘Cause I wanna let you know

Oh, what you say tastes sweeter than the truth
I don’t believe a word of it and it sounds kinda crude
At least you say something
And that something isn’t rude
Oh, what you say tastes sweeter than the truth

 Forever Grateful

I hear the birds singing high in the trees
I taste the honey, fear the sting of the bees
I love the silence, love the sound of the crowd
Wet from the raindrops, sometimes they're too loud

I see the smiles on faces in flower
I don't mind waiting that extra half hour
I cling on to good, even cold that can't melt
Feel abandon in loss and abundance in wealth

Some only grateful, seven days is a while
The weekend is back and so is their smile
Forever grateful even the moment I die
I'm ever grateful as each moment goes by

I taste the truth, the love in the water
I recall first steps, my son and my daughter
I cry when I'm happy, laugh when I'm sad
Don't need to get even, no need to think bad

Some only grateful, seven days is a while
The weekend is back and so is their smile
Forever grateful even the moment I die
I'm ever grateful as each moment goes by

I live for each moment, learn not to fret
I hold on to special, don't live to regret
I still feed the stomach that buckles my belt
Won't abandon the food that sugars my health

Some only grateful, seven days is a while
The weekend is back and so is their smile
Forever grateful even the moment I die
I'm ever grateful as each moment goes by
